Richard Eskite

From beer and wine to chocolate, ice cream and coffee, Richard Eskite shoots for some of the best-known food companies in the world including Del Monte, Ghirardelli, Haagen-Dazs, Heinz, Nestle, Ocean Spray and Peet's Coffee.  His food packaging photography has graced the shelves of major grocery store chains, including Safeway and Whole Foods. His editorial credits include spreads with many of the most influential magazines as well as a large cookbook library for Williams-Sonoma. Restaurant photography for Boudin Bakery, Chevys, Cracker Barrel, Noah's Bagels and Rubio's round out Richard’s expertise and experience.

An Art Center College of Design graduate, Richard ultimately made San Francisco his base in 1982 when he served Landor Associates as their staff photographer. Then as now, Landor was a pioneer in modern corporate identity and packaging design. In 1985, Richard began work in his Dogpatch studio while teaching at the Academy of Art College. Several of his formal students worked in his studio team after graduation.

After 34 years in his San Francisco location, Richard now shoots in satellite studios in Oakland, San Francisco and Marin as well as his Sierra Foothills studio location, replete with stunning natural light, aspirational modern kitchen and serene views.  This recent shift from the cramped and hectic urban environment has brought forth new partnerships, fresh challenges and a new connection with art and craft.
